VanNatta Public Relations values relationships and believes that they are really the catalyst through which all great business is done. Through social media campaigns, traditional media press, strategic events and good old fashioned communication, we build relationships between our clients and their customers (or members, volunteers or guests).
We have been in business for 45 years. Over the years, the company’s focus has shifted as the business climate in Salem has shifted, but what’s remained the same is the dedication and innovation we show our clients.
Our history runs deep. Fred VanNatta founded the then named Public Affairs, Inc. in 1967, as a campaign management and public relations consulting firm. Even then, the company was relied upon to deliver unprecedented service–in its second year, 1968, the company managed the Republican Governor’s Conference in Palm Springs, which was chaired by Republican, Ronald Regan, and was attended by 32 governors and President-Elect Nixon (not to mention Bob Hope provided the entertainment for the event).
After Mary Louise VanNatta joined the firm in 1986 as an Associate, the company saw a shift in clientele (the National Basketball Association and the National Football League to name a couple) and so in 1990 the principles decided to change the name to VanNatta Public Relations, Inc. The last major influence was the addition of Harvey Gail in 1994, who brought with him an MBA in Management and Marketing, strengthening VPR’s repertoire of experience in marketing and public relations.
The success of VanNatta Public Relations, Inc. was and is the result of experienced and knowledgeable staff who thrive in an ever-changing and demanding environment. From politicians and campaigns to non-profits and associations, we have continued to enhance our breadth of knowledge to help our clients meet their goals and reach for new ones.
